Dining at the Bedford Arms

Eating & drinking

Always home made, seasonal, locally sourced where possible and truly delicious, food and drink at the Bedford Arms is a big part of our success story.  From our famous Sunday roasts of tender beef (meat hung here on the premises) to the hand crafted pastries at our afternoon teas, we aim to make your dining experience special.

It’s up to you

Choose from one of the areas that suits you: find a space in our Bar, Restaurant or gardens, and we’ll serve you anything from a small snack to a three-course meal. You could start with a drink in the garden, then move into the restaurant for dinner, or find yourself the comfiest corner of our bar and stay there all evening.

Private parties

Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, funerals and christenings - we’ve helped our guests to celebrate them all. Let us know what you’re planning and we can create your perfect party, either in our Chess room or in the main restaurant.

Breakfasts

Why not treat yourself to a full English with local sausages, bacon and eggs? Or help yourself to a choice of cereals, fruit and continental pastries, served between 7 and 9:30AM on week days and between 8 and 9:30 AM on weekends and Bank Holidays.

Chess Room

This is the smaller of our two restaurants – perfect for a private party (for up to 24 Guests).

Oak-panelled restaurant

In our classic main restaurant we serve an extensive wine list and full menu.

The Bar

Our comfortable Bar, with its wooden beams and open fire, is a public bar open for lunch and dinner.  Our bar menu ranges from small snacks to full three course meals. We stock a large range of wines and serve traditional draft beers.
